I currently practice the asana part of the yoga style of Hatha (Sun-Moon) Yoga. Hatha Yoga is a centuries old practice of using the physical asana practice – the deliberate movement of the body into certain physical postures to create healing in the physical body and assist the mind to quiet in preparation for meditation. Hatha Yoga is a branch of yoga that is the most widely practiced yoga in the Western world – the USA included.
Yoga is used to experience a deeper awareness of the physical body and learn how to ease pain, anxiety, stress, low energy and any symptoms of disease that can be alleviated or supported.
Through yoga postures applied with conscious awareness of the breath, the mind and the anatomical alignment, many people feel amazing after a yoga session or class. Simple focus on breathing in and out in a steady, controlled manner (pranayama) is scientifically proven to reduce many of today’s top ailments, stemming from stress and lack of deep sleep.

ACTIVITY BEST FOR:
I want to dispel the myth that yoga is for pretzel types and young things in super stretchy outfits from very expensive yoga stores. Yoga is for EVERYONE. Yes, even children, pregnant women, the super stiff, the elderly, the disabled and those in a wheelchair. Give yoga a try, you’ll be glad you did. I look forward to assisting you with one-on-one private sessions, small in-home group or in a corporate yoga class at your office.
(The light in me sees the light in you and honors it).
