Starting right at birth, the process can be traumatic for both mom and baby. Long labors, assisted delivery with forceps, vacuum extraction, or c-section can misalign the atlas and can limit a newborn's ability to adapt to a new environment before they’re even had their first breath!
Just last week, I had a one month old patient who was born via a very long and stressful c-section delivery. Mommy so badly wanted to nurse her little baby and they just were't having any luck with the latch and baby also was having a bowel moment only every few days. She felt like she'd tired everything with a lactation consultant and even had gone to go see a craniosacral specialist. After getting checked and having only one adjustment, beautiful baby girl is now full time nursing with no pain experienced by mommy. She's also having much more frequent bowel movements.
Many people can get weary about sending or taking their children to chiropractors, with the harsh adjustments they may potentially feel themselves, I don't blame them. But I'd like to set the record straight. Pediatric chiropractic is a very gentle, safe, and specific way to help your baby grow up with the greatest potential for optimally functioning body. What do you think would have happened to mommy's dreams of nursing her little girl if she hadn't been referred to me?
