Pure water is so important for your body to flush out any toxins and provide your body hydration for your cells to function properly. Yet, many Americans, 75% actually, are chronically dehydrated. It completely surprises me how many people do not drink even the minimum 8, 8 oz glasses that we were taught as children. They drink less, or tell me that they drink a lot of juice, tea, or ice tea. These beverages are not water! They still have to be broken down in the body to become usable for hydration!
Want to know if you're part of the 75%? Symptoms of chronic dehydration include thirst, sluggishness, fatigue, emotional instability, clumsiness, headache, shortness of breath, weakness, and many other more serious symptoms. That's right, if you're thirsty, you're already dehydrated!
To find out how much your daily minimum required amount of water intake, you need to take your body weight and divide by two. That's the minimum amount of water you should have if you have a sedentary lifestyle. If you're exercising, running around after your kids, or out in the heat you need to drink much more. For example, if you're 128 lbs, you need a minimum of 64 oz!
