Lucky right? Absolutely not, I considered myself WELL PREPARED.
The more I learn about the body and how it works, the more I’m able to relate its function and signs & symptoms to pregnancy in hopes to minimize the unfavorable. So, please allow me to head back into my land of nerdiness for a little bit as I explain pregnancy symptoms from the scale of adaptability.
As I’ve mentioned before, the purpose of our brain and nervous system is to keep our bodies functioning as they were designed and to keep us adaptable. Pregnancy is really one of the greatest adaptations a woman’s body will ever have to make. How we experience pregnancy is really just a matter of how adaptable our bodies really are.
If you’re like me and you took the time and energy to take care of your body ahead of time, you’re probably highly adaptable and will enjoy a healthy and strong pregnancy. On the other hand, if you’re not adaptable at all, this is when you can get stuck and have trouble even getting pregnant in the first place. Most people fall somewhere in between. Their bodies were adaptable enough to get pregnant, but they still struggle through the process. They are the ones that experience the morning sickness, extreme indigestion, and swelling to name a few.
These symptoms can be limited by taking the time prior to conception to create an environment in your body that is adaptable to the growing changes and needs of your new baby.
So, what’s your vision for your pregnancy? Healthy and adaptable or struggling with symptoms… you are the master of your own experience.
